Autumn is my favourite season of all. I just can’t get enough of sweater weather, pumpkin spiced EVERYTHING and rainy days spent snuggled up reading. I’m also pushing myself to read more spooky novels and stories (even though I am a massive scaredy-cat! I think there’s something inside all of us that is fascinated and intrigued by stories of witchcraft, haunted houses and strange creatures.
I came across book Blogoween today, on Book Dragon’s intro post, and I am so excited to join in on the fun! I definitely need some motivation and inspiration for my blog right now.
Throughout October (which is approaching quickly!) various hosts will be providing Halloween and autumn themed prompts for us to blog about. There are various levels of involvement you can choose, depending on how often you’d like to post (I’ll definitely be going with Level 1). This is such an awesome idea – thanks to all of the lovely book bloggers who have set this up! Visit this post to learn more and to join in on the event.
A few of the prompts I’m already excited about:
- Halloween/Fall Coloured Covers
- Top 5 Books About Witches
- Creepy Crawlies (Fictional monsters/creatures that you would hate to encounter IRL)
- Book Spine Spell List
- Shapeshifter (characters you’d like to dress up as for Halloween)
And there are so many more creative prompts! You should seriously consider signing up.
I have a few creepy reads lined up for October, but I’m always in search of recommendations. I enjoy gothic horror, psychological thrillers, classic murder mysteries, and honestly anything about witches! What are some of your favourite autumn reads?
